“My friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. You know you learn to endure by having your faith tested. But you must learn to endure everything, so you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything (James 1:2-4).
How is it possible to be glad in times of trouble? By reminding yourself that there’s something to be gained from every loss, every failure, and every setback, if you look for it.
Enduring trouble and pain gives us a perspective and maturity we can’t get any other way. Our hard-earned life experiences make us more mature, and more empathetic to other hurting people.
You may not be ready to thank God for the trials and suffering in your life, but you can thank him for the results they produce in you.”
