This blows my mind. My palms are sweating.
Alex Honnold is the Michael Jordan of rock climbing and here is what he says on fear: “I do get scared while soloing. Something will happen and you have that little jolt of fear, excitement, or whatever you want to call it. Those kinds of feelings can compound themselves. I get a little jolt like that, but then I nip it in the bud, and then return to an even keel.”
Most certainly anyone would experience fear when climbing without a rope, but when everyday fears come up in our lives we should also learn how to cancel them out ASAP.
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” – Psalm 34:4
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
